Very good hotel with many amenities, but no breakfast, although there is a microwave, television, and refrigerator in each room.

For the money,location and ease of staying there it’s an incredible get away ! The beach is powder with sand dollars and shells. The location looks across to Tijuana with Navy ships, sailboats, tugboats and the sunsets ! The trill of the water over the rocks as the tide comes in . Our grands loved the fire station right there and the area to walk around with navy hustle and bustle going by.
Overall had a great experience here. The rooms are extremely clean and the view is great. Never busy and always quiet. The housekeeping staff is thorough and kind. The front desk staff were very helpful when there was a maintenance issue with the room I had booked and had to be moved to a different room type. The staff was on top of it and moved me to a larger room with a kitchen as soon as one became available. Highly recommend!

Great location. Staying in a suite very nice, newly remodeled. Unfortunately it wasn't an ocean view but still a great room. Everything worked. We were on the 3rd floor. Just a reminder no elevator, so if you have disability needs ask for an ADA or first floor. Has a small beach, gym, pool, BX, gas station, and a few other things close by. It's a cozy base.
Navy Inn Ballast Point feature large, clean, comfortable rooms and suites, in a very peaceful setting on the breakwater. I'd place it above average for base accommodations. It is a 10 to 15 min drive to get to restaurants, stores, and Liberty Station. But it is right next to the amazing NBPL gym and pool complex, which requires CAC access.
My favorite Navy Gateway. It’s so peaceful, especially early in the morning, sipping coffee over the water and watching the cormorants fly out in one long line, or seeing an aircraft carrier pull into San Diego bay. The rooms aren’t fancy but they all have over-the-ocean views and feel homey. Staff has always been so laid back and remember us every time! Play tennis, go to smuggler’s cove, jog on the track, or work out in the outside gym- it’s all right next door. Oh and great blue herons are everywhere!
